Acton’s Early Learning receives Façade Improvement Grant

HALTON HILLS, ON. - On September 6, the Town awarded a $25,000 Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Façade Improvement Grant to Acton’s Early Learning Child Care Centre.

Acton’s Early Learning has become an integral part of the Halton Hills community, providing childcare for over 120 local families with children under the age of five. The grant enabled the business to enhance their exterior with a focus on safety through the installation of protective bollards and other improvements.

Mayor Ann Lawlor, Regional Councillor Somerville and Ward 1 Councillors Hilson and Albano and economic development staff attended the cheque presentation.

“The CIP program has proven to be a positive experience and has helped my business beyond my expectations. It began as a safety project for my childcare centre and concluded with a fresh facade which has greatly enhanced the aesthetics of my building,” said Carol Sideris, owner of Acton’s Early Learning Child Care Centre. “Sarah Schicht [Economic Development and Tourism Officer for the Town of Halton Hills] helped me navigate the process, from beginning to end, with ease. Many thanks to the Town of Halton Hills.”

“Acton’s Early Learning has created a safe, welcoming space that truly reflects the heart of our community,” said Mayor Lawlor. “The Façade Improvement Grant is a key part of our Community Improvement Plan, helping businesses enhance their presence and better serve our town.”

The Community Improvement Plan offers grants and loans to eligible businesses and organizations, encouraging revitalization, attracting private sector investment, supporting the redevelopment of under-utilized properties, and bolstering local job opportunities.
