Halton Hills, January 12th, 2021- Bennett Centre Long-Term Care received notice on Saturday, 9th January from Halton Region Public Health, that the Covid-19 outbreak at the Home is over and the case has been resolved. The outbreak was declared on December 28th, 2020, after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
We appreciate the support of Halton Region Public Health, our residents, families, and the local community as we worked to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Home. We will continue to follow Public Health directives and protocols, including twice daily screenings of residents and staff.
As part of prevention measures, the Home, in partnership with Halton Healthcare are preparing staff, residents, and families for the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“The Bennett Centre staff started to receive their COVID vaccine on January 5th and residents on January 14th. We anticipate almost all of the staff and residents will receive two dosages of the vaccine by early February” stated Soo Wong, Executive Director.
Bennett Centre is part of Bennett Village, a not-for-profit organization, located in Halton Hills. We provide a friendly, homelike environment for residents, including caring staff that strive to provide a family like, resident-centered care, and services to residents every day.
