Cannabis Q&A: Mike Albano
1. Have you ever used Cannabis? And if so, what did you think of it?
This question is completely irrelevant to the rest of the other questions. I grew up in the 60’s, I did try it. As person with Bronchiolar condition and not knowing the harmful effects of Cannabis, it is not or me.
2. What is your current stance on Cannabis?
Cannabis legalization will be here soon, now we have to deal with it. We need to work to educate the youth regarding addiction and harm reduction. Young people should be part of the education development process around cannabis.
3. Would you vote for Halton Hills to opt in, or opt out, or wait to opt in of the new legislation?
Difficult to make a decision without having all the facts. At the present time the Provincial Government have yet to finalize their plans. They have stated that information will be available after the Municipal election. We need to have our community involved and be part of the decision making. The new elected Council will be dealing with the legislation in 2019.
4. What is your opinion on Cannabis vs. Alcohol? Do you find one substance to be better, more harmful, or equal?
Both substances are government controlled, the reason they are controlled substances is that they have health risks associated with use. In my opinion one substance is not any better than the other.
