Celebrate Earth Day with Willow Park Norval

Earth Day Celebration Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 1:30-4:30 PM

Willow Park Norval welcomes families to commemorate Earth Day with their award-winning outdoor education center. The park is located in Halton Hills, Ontario by Credit River and Silver Creek. The event is free and refreshments will be provided to everyone joining the fun.

According to Willow Park Norval the community will have fun and educational activities for the whole family to enjoy. The goal is for the locals to give back to the planet through gardening, traits-renewal, a park clean up, habitat care and a nature-themed scavenger hunt.

This will not only be a great opportunity for children and adults to learn about our environment but it is also suitable for student volunteer hours as well. The event is completely free and one can sign up through the link, here. Tunde Otto, the Executive Director of the Ecology Center in Norval is extremely pleased to be hosting the official Earth Day celebration after it has been postponed for years due to COVID-19. Mr. Otto comments,

“We are very pleased to host a more official Earth Day Celebration event this year post Covid. We will be sharing in caring for the beautiful nature space in the Hungry Hollow ravine along Silver Creek with hands-on activities like gardening for butterflies, wood chipping trails and setting up resources for a busy spring with school groups. The site was started, and is managed, by community and student volunteers through a Volunteer Mentorship Program. We look forward to having people join us to enjoy a day in nature socializing.”
