The Halton Regional Police Service has charged the 15 year old male arrested in the attack on an elderly Oakville resident that took place on June 3, 2020 (see original release below). The youth has now been charged with attempted murder and break and enter with intent. As previously stated, police will not be releasing any further details about the suspect. This is being done in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to protect the identity of the victim. The victim remains in stable condition and is recovering in hospital. The victim, a 79 year old female, was transported to hospital with wounds consistent with a stabbing. She is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect and victim are known to one another. Police have arrested a 15 year old male from York Region in relation to the attack and charges are pending. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival and was arrested on a bus in Peel Region by Halton Tactical Rescue Unit officers. Police are not looking for additional suspects.
