The Parkette at the corner of Mill and Main is festive once again, this time in a St Patrick’s Day theme. “We had such positive feedback from our Valentine’s Day display we decided to continue” says Alex Hilson, Coordinator for the Downtown Acton BIA. The idea and work was completed prior to COVID-19 being declared a pandemic. “People can still enjoy it as they walk by and it reminds drivers on Highways 25 and 7 that Acton is here and that we’re a proud community”. Hilson encourages residents to get out and enjoy the Parkette, being mindful of COVID-19. “If you are taking a picture, try not to touch the display and please stay home if you are feeling ill or have returned from international travel within the last fourteen days”. Those taking photos at the Parkette are encouraged to share their pictures on social media with the hashtags #LoveDowntownActon and #ItsWorthTheDrive. Matthew Galliford, owner of The House of Workwear Socks & More and BIA Board Member, was once again responsible for building the interactive display.
