Acton Councillor and Multiple Police Officers to Be Held For Bail

Acton’s Councillor and Multiple Police Officers to be held for a bail hearing

One of Acton’s Councillors, as well as multiple Police Officers, are being held for bail. Yes, be at you read that right, and no this is not another April Fools joke.

Acton Councillor Michael Albano is being held for bail. His arraignment at11:30 AM on Friday April 27 at the Georgetown Market Place, his crime “Failing to Eat Chicken at Corporate Functions”.

“Failing to eat chicken?” you say, “at corporate functions?” you say. I know this may sound ridiculous, and I can assure you, its not, in fact, this is very serious.

Councillor Albano and at least 12 others are being held for bail in an attempt to raise money for Crime Stoppers. The event entitled “Jail-a-Thon” will start at 10:00 AM and will go until 5:00pm, and will take place at the Georgetown Market Place.

Some of the other accused, who are “innocent until proven guilty of course” are, Police Constable William Bijl who is charged with “Excessive tooting”, Inspector John Van der Lelie who is facing “Murdering the retirement age and possession of too many years of service”, and Deputy Chief Nishan Duraiappah who is accused of “Possession of too many selfies and illegal distribution of donuts”.

Mike is not the only public servant who will be participating, Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette will also be taking part in the day and will play the role of prosecutor.

All of the money raised for Councillor Albano’s and other’s bail will be considered a donation and those contributing will receive a tax receipt. Talk about diplomatic and police privileges...

Jail-a-thon is described as a “fun event that has been used successfully by Crime Stoppers programs across North America to raise the money necessary to operate day to day.“ Since Crime Stoppers began 30 years ago “Halton Crime Stoppers has racked up impressive numbers in arrests, property recovered and drugs removed from the streets. This has helped the region maintain itself as one of the safest communities in the country.”

Crime Stoppers needs your support to assist in maintaining their success seeing as the “majority of their funds come from donations from both the private and corporate sector” which is why your support is crucial. You can help Councillor Albano and Crime Stoppers by going to the link and donating to the fund.
