Writer: Chris Golden Chris Golden

Yesterday, at approximately 6:30pm an Acton resident was sent to the hospital with life threatening injuries following a motor vehicle accident on Eastern Avenue, outside the Olde Hide House.

The road temporarily blocked off on Eastern Avenue from Queen Street to York Street for forensics has since been reopened.

Sergeant Lindsay Murray for Halton Regional Police Services tells Acton UP,

“There was a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and the roads are closed at Eastern and York and Highway 7”.

The vehicle involved in the collision appeared to be a Grey Ford Fiesta. From the damage left on the Fiesta, it appeared that the pedestrian flew into the windshield of the vehicle. Halton Regional Polices Services mentioned in their press release, "The motorist also a local adult resident, remained at the scene and co-operated with Police investigation."

The pedestrian was rushed to the Regional Trauma Center at Hamilton General Hospital.

Police asked that "Anyone with information about this incident who has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext: 5065. "
