Atom BB finds Silver Lining in Barrie

Atom BB finds Silver Lining in Barrie

Last week in Twister action 3 representative teams competed in tournament action while 18 regular season games took place between November 12 to 18. The Atom BB team was the lone team in the Barrie Sharkfest while the Atom AA and Bantam B teams both travelled to Ottawa to take part in the Kanata Girls Hockey Tournament. While in Ottawa both teams had the opportunity to take in an NHL game as the Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Ottawa Senators on Saturday evening at the Canadian Tire Centre. The Midget AA team was also in the spotlight once again as they played Team China at home on Friday evening.

The Atom BB team was also in action this weekend as they headed up the 400 to the Barrie Sharkfest! The BB team dropped their opening game 1-0 to South Huron, as the round robin continued the BB team started to find their stride tying North Simcoe before defeating Orillia 5-0 to earn a well deserved spot in the championship game on Sunday. The championship game would see a rematch against South Huron, that would end in a 3-2 shootout loss for the Twisters. In Bantam news, the B team also travelled to Ottawa this past weekend where they found themselves 0 and 4 after round robin play meaning they would miss out on the medal round in Ottawa. In Midget News, the AA team faced off in front of a great crowd at Mold-Master Sportsplex on Friday evening in the second game of the two game series. Unfortunately the Twisters went 0 and 2 against China this season landing on the wrong side of the game falling 4-1 on Friday night at home. December 9th is Twister Day in Acton from 6:45am until 9:30pm the Twisters will paint the rink pink in their annual Twister Day player showcase and fundraiser in support of the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CasHH). Come out for a day of fun at the Acton Arena that will include, face painting, a photo booth, a silent auction, puck toss, 50/50 draw, bake sale, showcase over 900 female hockey players from across Ontario and more!
