These are words that several Acton residents live by. Both Fran Morris and Peter Top made their 100th donation today at the Acton Legion.
Peter made his first donation 39 years ago in Sarnia.
Fran made her first donation in 1974 at Fairlawn United Church in Toronto on her way home from work. Born and raised in Toronto, Fran moved to Acton 16 years ago. She started volunteering at these blood drives that same year. “It’s important to give if you can,” Fran tells Acton UP, “I’ve reached 100 donations despite travels and surgeries which have prevented donations. It is achievable.”
Having volunteered for 16 years, Fran knows many repeat donors by name.
Blood Services runs a clinic every 3 months in Acton and they fill up fast! They are looking to extend the hours and start at 2pm.
The next Acton clinic is December 17. Book early, spots are limited.
