Charges Laid in Drug Trafficking Investigation

In the summer of 2022 members of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) - Drug and Human Trafficking Unit (DHTU) commenced an investigation into the suspected distribution of illicit controlled substances in Burlington and the surrounding area.


Between September 27 and 28, 2022, members of DHTU with the assistance of other specialized HRPS units concluded this investigation with the arrest of two men. Residential search warrants were executed in Mississauga, Brampton, and two locations in Burlington. A vehicle associated to the investigation was also searched. As a result, investigators seized approximately:

  • 1 kilogram of methamphetamine

  • 4 ounces of fentanyl

  • 3 ounces of cocaine

  • 200 Oxycodone tablets

  • Replica firearm


Charged:


Patrick McNerney (51) of Burlington

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts- Methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl)


Kevon Samuel-Barriteau (28) of Brampton

Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (3 counts- Methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (4 counts- Methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, oxycodone)


Both McNerney and Samuel-Barriteau have a scheduled October 2022 court date in relation to these charges.
