Halton Hills, ON – Can you answer your community’s call for help? Consider being part of a group of dedicated individuals working to protect and save the lives of people in your community as a part-time fire fighter.
Members of the Halton Hills Fire Department face new and challenging situations unlike any other job. They fight fires, perform rescues, administer first aid, deal with hazardous materials, protect property, and may be instrumental in saving lives.
Due to the expanding growth of the Halton Hills community and fire department attrition, the Town needs additional part-time personnel to complement current staffing at all Halton Hills Fire Stations (Headquarters Station and the Maple Avenue Station in Georgetown and the Churchill Road Station in Acton). Note that residency in Halton Hills is required for members of the fire service.
“Firefighting is a diverse and challenging position. Being a part-time firefighter provides the individual with personal rewards and satisfaction and requires commitment and hard work,” said Commissioner & Fire Chief Harry Olivieri. “Whether male, female, from different cultures or faiths, consider joining the Halton Hills Fire Department.”
“We are looking to hire part-time firefighters, from all backgrounds with a variety of skills, to be part of our team,” said Deputy Chief Bruce Morrison. “Interested candidates should attend our information session via Zoom being held on Thursday October 15 at 7 p.m. All questions about the hiring process or part-time firefighting in general, will be answered at this session. Applications will be available online as of Friday, October 16 and will be accepted up to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 30.”
