HALTON HILLS, ON/ December 7, 2022 – The Halton Hills Public Library (HHPL) has released its new five-year strategic plan and brand.
The new Strategic Plan describes the library’s strategic objectives, goals, mission, values and vision for future success over the next five years. This plan was developed through extensive consultation with the community, including surveys and focus groups, and with guidance from TCI Management Consultants. The plan outlines how the library will focus on three essential strategic objectives: being welcoming and inclusive, supporting community connections, and enriching lives. It is through these objectives, goals and initiatives that the library aims to empower residents to realize their potential through life-long learning and literacy.
In addition to the Strategic Plan, HHPL will roll out a new logo and brand. The new logo displays playful dots and layering of colours that are used to illustrate points of connection, interconnectivity, and diversity within the Halton Hills community. It references HHPL’s website URL and illustrates its friendly and welcoming approach. The modern design will represent the library as it continues to be responsive and relevant, meeting the future needs of Halton Hills.
Residents can also enjoy a refreshed library website featuring the new dynamic logo and colours of the new brand. The website will feature an expanded home page, a new online calendar, and improved news features to help keep you up-to-date on all the latest library programs, services and collections. To top off the website refresh, HHPL has switched from www.hhpl.on.ca to the simplified www.hhpl.ca to reflect the simplicity of the new brand. The refreshed website is expected to go live on December 8, 2022.
And finally, your library will soon add a remote Book Locker Kiosk at the Gellert Community Centre. The Book Lockers will be located inside the entrance to the Gellert Community Centre. Easily recognized by the new HHPL branding, they are designed to extend the coverage and accessibility of the library by providing a new place where you can pick up requested items, return items you have borrowed, browse and borrow new books and more. The book lockers will provide easy, convenient, and contactless service and will be available to the community in the new year. More information about this innovative book kiosk system will be available soon.
“We are delighted to launch our new Strategic Plan and Brand and show them to the community,” says Beverley King, Acting Chief Librarian and CEO. “When talking to people in Halton Hills, we heard time and time again that you consider us the heart of the community, so we will strive to enrich the lives of everyone in Halton Hills through ideas, creativity, and connection in a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment.”
The new Strategic Plan will officially begin on January 1, 2023. Watch for our new brand as it starts to appear in library branches, our website www.hhpl.ca, and the new Gellert Centre Book Lockers.
