HALTON HILLS, ON/ July 9, 2020 – On June 15, the Province announced that Halton Region could move into Stage 2 of reopening. As of June 23, residents were able to enter HHPL branches to pick up their holds from Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Now as of July 9, HHPL is happy to offer additional services to residents in Halton Hills, that include computer and internet use, as well as printing services. Patrons can call the Library to book their 45-minute appointment. Appointment times are available on the hour starting at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Upon arrival, residents can check-in at the main service desk and an HHPL staff member will assist with a computer. For printing services, patrons will need to ask for assistance to access the printer. Normal printing charges will be in effect. In Georgetown, access to the computers is on the upper level (there is no access to the lower level). In Acton, residents can enter via River Street for computer use and exit via School Lane. HHPL asks that everyone please sanitize their hands upon entry, be mindful of physical distancing rules, and pay attention to all signage and safety measures. If residents are feeling unwell, please stay home. Note: Access to items on shelves (Library stacks), seating and other spaces are not permitted by the Province at this time. “We are happy to once again offer these additional and vital services to the Halton Hills community,” says Geoff Cannon, Chief Librarian. “We know that patrons are eager and excited to use the equipment for their personal needs. We look forward to welcoming the community back.” To place holds for pick up, please visit the Halton Hills Public Library website. To book an appointment for computer use, please call: 905-873-2681.
