HALTON HILLS, ON/ May 26, 2020 – The Halton Hills Public Library is happy to now offer Curbside Pickup at both branches to all patrons.
Halton Hills Public Library knows and appreciates that library services are greatly valued and necessary for the community. HHPL’s first priority is to get items to patrons who had holds ready for pickup when the Library closed in March. Patrons will receive an email letting them know their holds have been processed and will then be directed to an online form to select a pickup date and time that works best.
All items for pickup will be checked out to patrons and put into paper bags that are clearly labeled with their first and last name. Patrons will be able to easily locate their items in the vestibule at the Church Street entrance of the Georgetown Branch, and the School Lane entrance of the Acton Branch during their chosen 30-minute pickup window. Patrons are asked to maintain a physical distance of 2-meters from other patrons while picking up their materials.
There should be only one person in the building vestibule at a time.
“We are thrilled to start offering Curbside Pickup to our residents” says, Geoff Cannon, Chief Librarian. “It’s a welcomed step for patrons who are eager and excited to get their hands on physical collections and resources. Staff ask that patrons please be patient as we roll out our Curbside Pickup Service; we are processing requests as quickly as possible. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back when we fully reopen but until that time, don’t forget to take advantage of our digital library.”
Please note: HHPL may experience a high level of demand and this may impact the availability of pickup times. For the health and safety of Library staff and patrons, all returned library materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before it is checked in and processed.
