HALTON HILLS, ON/ May 15, 2020 – As per the Government of Ontario’s May 14 released detailed list of Stage 1 openings, public library services may resume delivery and pickup as early as May 19, 2020. Although Halton Hills Public Library knows and appreciates that library services are greatly valued and necessary for the community, HHPL is taking a slow and measured approach to reopening these specific services; in order to ensure the health and well-being of staff and patrons during these uncertain times. “The safety and security of staff and patrons are of utmost importance as we plan the slow reopening of some services” says, Geoff Cannon, Chief Librarian. “Although plans had already begun for holds pickup, staff are now working out the finer details. No pickups will be scheduled until the later part of next week at the earliest. Please watch your email notifications for more information on when your holds will be ready. All the staff at HHPL truly miss all of you and we can’t wait to welcome you back. Until then, don’t forget to take advantage of our digital library.” Please know that HHPL is here to answer your questions or concerns! Staff are available to respond to your voicemails and emails Monday to Friday (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.). You can call us at 905-873-2681, email us at: askus@haltonhills.ca, or speak with us via our live chat, directly from our website: https://www.hhpl.on.ca/.
