Halton Hills Public Library to unveil new website
HALTON HILLS, ON/ November 28, 2018 – The Halton Hills Public Library is thrilled to unveil its new website on December 7, 2018. The new HHPL.on.ca website has been completely reimagined, redeveloped and redesigned for a friendly, comfortable and easier user experience.
In development since May 2018, the new site features: - Resources now listed by topic - Instant and easy access to the calendar of events - A new study room booking area - New books, movies, and music, all highlighted on the homepage - Updated and reorganized content - Larger font sizes - Striking images and glorious colours
All of these features and more appear right on the main page. Digging deeper you’ll find large banners that assist with site navigation; bold, easy to read headers and wayfaring that quickly guides the user easily and effectively to find information required. No more digging and clicking continuously to reach targeted results.
Designed and implemented by eSolutionsGroup in Waterloo, Ontario, the library staff along with members of the community, have worked tirelessly and with determination to make the website user-friendly and accessible for everyone. This includes making the design and functionality responsive; meaning accessible on all devices, including tablets and phones.
“The website is our online library branch, and like all of our branches we aim to make it as accessible, welcoming and useful as possible,” says Clare Hanman, the Manager of Content and Technologies.
The new website has a free flowing design that allows the community to explore and discover all the library has to offer, as well as where they can get involved. Through the website’s calendar events, groups, book clubs, game nights and seminars, residents can come together and find those special connections that make the Halton Hills community what it is.
“As a Library, it is our mission to engage the residents in exploring ideas, expressing creativity and making connections, and the launch of the new, improved Library website is an exciting way we are making this happen,” says Geoff Cannon, Chief Librarian.
The new website which now offers more features and information can be viewed at hhpl.on.ca on December 7th.
