Glen Williams Canada Day Activities
Glen Williams Canada Day festivities will take place from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. There will not be fireworks at this year's event, however, there will be a celebratory parade at noon. There will be vendors, live music and activities for parents and children. Jenn Budgen team member and associate for Glen Williams shares,
“Canada Day in the Glen is back! Residents of Glen Williams and other areas of Halton Hills are welcomed into the heart of our hamlet for a fun-filled day after a two-year hiatus. Events for the day include a pancake breakfast, food trucks and market vendors, music, seniors tea, a pet show, and many other activities for all ages. The highlight for many residents each year is the parade. The parade takes place at noon and will include local dignitaries, businesses, and residents celebrating Canada’s birthday. “
Budgen also shares that Glen Wiliams Town Hall board of trustees is having a fundraiser for the ongoing operations of the hall by selling special Canada Day T-shirts. “ Pre-sales are being done through our social media,” comments Budgen, “ they will also be available for purchase on Canada Day.”

The Acton Fire Fighters Association Fireworks
The Acton Fire Fighters Association Fireworks is scheduled for Friday, July 1st, 2022 at 9:30 pm located at Prospect Park. This year the AFFA is asking the local community for small donations to help fund the fireworks celebration yearly. Canada Day Fireworks Committee Chair Alan Scott shares,
“Our relatively small membership of 18 part-time firefighters organizes and coordinates annual events such as the Santa Claus Parade and the Canada Day Fireworks. Ever-increasing costs of our Fireworks display and the recent COVID-19 restrictions have limited our ability to raise funds to provide this amazing show for our community. With this cause in mind, we ask for your support and a donation towards the Canada Day Fireworks display. Without your support and the support of our community, these events would not be possible.”
Scott shares that cheques can be made payable to the Acton Firefighters Association and mailed to; Acton Firefighters Association, PO Box 213 Acton, Ont. For more information regarding how to donate, one can contact Scott through his email at ascott41@cogeco.ca
