Links2Care is an organization within Halton, Mississauga, and South Etobicoke. Links2Care provides support to those in need, fostering early learning programs for children and aiding seniors in finding independence.
Links2Care BackPack Program has been helping lower-income students start the school year for over a decade. The program helps students get on the right foot for school and alleviates some financial pressures during back-to-school time. Cathy Gerrow, Community Support Program Leader of Links2Care shares,
“Backpacks filled with school supplies are available for students from JK to Grade 12 and this year the deadline to apply is August 12th. This program is greatly appreciated by our families as it helps to reduce some of the financial stress especially pervasive now as the cost of living (the price of housing, food, gas, etc.) continues to rise.”
The Links2Care backpack program application is available on the Links2Care website, and their offices are located in Georgetown, 360 Guelph Street, and Acton, 69 Acton Boulevard. Ms. Gerrow also shares, “we welcome financial donations as well as donations of backpacks and school supplies. We often hear from our people that they wouldn’t be able to do this without our help.” Gerrow continues, “so we are very grateful to be able to offer this program another year in Halton Hills and to those who supply generation donations and volunteer support to make it possible.”
