Legion News (March, 2023)

Finally, I have noticed that more and more members and their guests are coming to the Legion these days. The darts leagues are flourishing as are the cards leagues, and last months Friday dinner and trivia night saw a further increase in attendance. Last weeks Ham Roll proved to be a good draw as the numbers finally reached pre-pandemic levels. Peggy would like to thank Dave Lewis and his excellent team for providing such an enjoyable afternoon.

Great Job on the St Pats night dinner Les !! Good to see that we are getting lots of use in the Main Hall these days.

On March 25th, the Ladies Auxiliary hosted their Easter and Spring Bazaar in the Main Hall. Susan tells me that it was a great success, especially the raffles. Peggy and I were present to see what an outstanding job the LAX did, and Peggy commends them for the hard working team they put together.

We plan to show our appreciation of the Ladies by hosting Special Luncheon on Sunday April 2nd.

Have you noticed the new décor in the Games Room. How do you like it? Ian and Laura Munday, along with Angie Palmer and Pete Downs, spearheaded a team of painters and lighting fixture guys, who came in over a weekend last month to refurbish the Games room, and what a beautiful job they made of it. Thanks to all of you who worked so hard.

Monday May 8th, is an important date on our Calendar as this is our Annual General Meeting. If you want to see changes at the decision making level, this is your opportunity to elect a new Executive. Please mark you calendar for this date.

We offer our condolences to the Ross, Palmer, Arnold, Lawlor, Allen and Sheehan families in the loss of their loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
