HALTON HILLS, ON - Every four years, Town Council sets the direction for the term ahead, identifying key priorities and initiatives to guide the work of staff. The 2019-2022 Strategic Plan focused on seven priority areas:
Shaping growth
Transportation
Climate change and the environment
Fiscal and corporate management
Local autonomy and advocacy
Ensure a vibrant agricultural community
Youth and senior initiatives
An overview of accomplishments for the past term including studies, strategies and deliverables have been documented in a collection of summary information sheets posted on the Town’s website.
“We really did accomplish a lot,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “I look back on this past term of Council with great pride when I consider what staff was able to accomplish. Climate change was one area where we really advanced the agenda by completing numerous studies and plans on adaptation, energy, fleet electrification and low carbon facility designs and this year we launched our home retrofit program.”
The new Town Council will determine their strategic plan priorities in early 2023.
