Halton Hills, ON – The Provincial Stay-at Home Order has seen some residents housing additional family members and their vehicles - a challenge given the Town’s parking by-law. At its meeting on Monday, April 12, Town Council passed a resolution directing staff to relax parking enforcement and not ticket vehicles parked longer than six hours, overnight or in 12 hour zones. “I want to be clear,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “This is a temporary change to the by-law to provide a bit of relief for residents juggling cars in spaces. Staff will continue to provide enforcement for other parking matters such as blocking sidewalks, intersections or parking in front of a fire hydrant.” The temporary change will remain in effect until the Stay-at-Home Order has ended and will resume in the event other Stay-at-Home orders are directed by the Province.
