Recreation and Parks and Halton Hills Public Library Offering Family Recreation Activities This Summer HALTON HILLS, ON/ June 25, 2020 – Halton Hills Recreation and Parks in partnership with the Halton Hills Public Library, are offering residents the opportunity to borrow Family Recreation Activities starting June 30. Residents can choose from a variety of fun activities and inspiring games to play with their family and friends. Activities include: Spikeball, Giant Jenga, Disc Bash, Kubb, Parachute, Boom Whackers, Speed Stacking Sets, Tyke T-Ball Sets, Pop Up Soccer Sets, and more. Active Easy has also contributed Activity Kits for residents to borrow, to assist in making the active choices the easy choices. Each kit includes a dodgdeball, basketball, soccer ball, pylons, skipping rope, badminton set (2 racquets and 2 birdies), scoop ball, velcro catch and sidewalk chalk. Residents can borrow items for a two-week period by booking online at the Halton Hills Public Library website. The Library is now open with limited hours for holds pick up only, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday. Residents can reserve items through the Library’s online catalogue and an email will be sent once the items are ready for pick up,. Due to the size of some of the Family Recreation Activities, residents will need to speak to a Library staff member when they arrive in order to pick up their items. All reserved items can be picked up on the main level in the Georgetown Branch and in the Community Room at the Acton Branch. Please Note: Returned activities will be quarantined for a period of 72 hours before being checked in and processed for another patron. This ensures the health and safety of everyone. “We are excited to offer residents the opportunity to borrow games and activities for the entire family to enjoy this summer,” says Samantha Howard, Director of Recreation Services. “During these uncertain times, families may not be able to travel or may have limited resources for entertainment, so it’s great to offer fun and engaging options during summer vacation.” To reserve your Family Recreation Activities, please visit the Family Recreation Activities page on the Halton Hills Public Library website.
