Record breaking year for the Leathertown Festival.

Last Sunday, August 12, 2018, people came from near and far for Acton’s largest event of the summer, The Leathertown Festival, and this year’s Leathertown Festival is expected to have been the largest yet.Over 15000 people were estimated to attend the festival this year. Event goers had a chance to enjoy the food, fun, music, car show and more. This would make it the best attended Leathertown Festival in its 27 year run.

This year's headlining act was Juno award winning Splash and Boots, who put on two performances during the day on the main stage. Also on the main stage were performances from Monty Greig, The Vaudevillian, The Tone Dogs, and an opening address by Mayor Rick Bonnette.

Beyond the main stage the festival had 2 other stages including the Inspire Halton Stage, and the Party Cinemas Stage by the car show. There were also multiple impromptu performances put on throughout the day. This year also broke records for the amount of vendors, with the amount being 140 this year doubled from last years 70, and the majority of them were from the Town of Halton Hills and around the community. In Downtown Acton’s press release they said “ We are very happy to both offer and receive support from our community. It was that sense of community pride that helped make this year such a success. A big thank you goes out to the volunteers and sponsors of this years’ event. Everyone has worked so hard to pull this festival together. “They also wanted to give a thank you to volunteers and sponsors involved, “ A big thank you goes out to the volunteers and sponsors of this years’ event.
