Writer: Chris Golden Chris Golden

Stolen Vehicle Pursuit leads to Crash in Downtown Acton At approximately 5:15pm Monday April 22nd a truck containing 3 passengers, two male and one female, in their mid twenties fled from Police. This in turn led to a Police pursuit and the truck hitting Acton Discount Variety. A 27 year old male driver of no fixed address is in custody along with 2 passengers following a pursuit by Police after a suspicious person call turned into a stolen vehicle pursuit and chase after the driver failed to initially pull over for Police. Police “discontinued the pursuit, followed it up to Acton, they started driving in an erratic manner down Mill St. so we had to stop it for public safety reasons”, said Sergeant Bilton of Halton Region Police Service. The truck hit a police car near the end of Mill St. by Main St. and was later "pinned down" by Acton Discount Variety, which is where the truck took out a sign and hit the building. The driver is charged with Dangerous Operation Of A Motor Vehicle, Possession Of Stolen Property, and Criminal Flight From Police. More charges may be pending. There were thankfully no injuries. Public reports of "a gun" are false. UPdate: At approximately 9:30pm Halton Regional Police Tweeted
