The Halton Hills Public Library Appoints, Re-appoints New Library Board Members and Elects Chair and Vice-Chair HALTON HILLS, ON/ April 24, 2019 – The Town of Halton Hills recently appointed a new Library Board to guide the direction of the Library for the next four years. Tamara Smith-Miksic was elected as Board Chair and Lisa Caissie as Vice-Chair. Returning members include: Larry Hawes, Matt Kindbom and Marilyn Willis as well as returning Mayor’s Designates, Ward 2 Councillor Ted Brown and Ward 4 Councillor Ann Lawlor. New to the Board are Betsy Cosper, Keith Medenblik, Joanna Meler and James Schumacker. The Library Board thanks Heather McAlpine and April Currey for their dedicated service to the Board as well as outgoing Chair Bett Leverette for her 6.5 years of dedication to the Board, the staff and the community. “We’re very grateful for the ongoing support of The Town of Halton Hills, our community and the staff of the Library,” says, Tamara Smith-Miksic, Library Board Chair. “There is something for everyone of every age at the Library and we are thrilled to play a key role in helping residents to learn and reach their fullest potential through our programs, services and resources.” (Photo: Tamara Smith-Miksic, Chair, HHPL) Agreeing with Tamara’s comment, the Board Vice-Chair Lisa Caissie added, “The Library Board and staff are looking forward to working with the community and acting on their behalf to continue to strengthen and grow the Library.
