The Town Celebrates Small Business Week with Free Studio Space

HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills is bringing back programming in celebration of Small Business Week (October 16 – 22) to support new and growing businesses. The Picture Perfect – DIY Product Photography Event is geared to local small businesses, including start-ups, home-based businesses, and entrepreneurs. The initiative offers free studio space and equipment at the Georgetown Public Library and includes information on best practices for product photography.

“I’m very pleased we are able to offer this unique and hands-on opportunity to support our community’s small businesses,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “If a picture truly is worth a thousand words, than this initiative supports a multitude of stories.”

The library studio rooms will be equipped with a lightbox and tripod that can hold a smart phone or DSLR camera from the library to create picture perfect shots of your business products.

One hour studio space sessions are available Tuesday, October 18th from 1 to 4 p.m., and Thursday, October 20th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Town’s Digital Main Street Coordinator will be available to assist with photography questions and provide tips and tricks on how to produce digital content. Business Advisors from the Halton Region Small Business Centre will also be onsite to answer questions.

Sessions for the Picture Perfect event can be booked on the Invest Halton Hills website at investhaltonhills.com.

The Picture Perfect event is part of the Town’s Digital Main Street Program currently available through the Town’s Economic Development Department until the end of 2023. Visit the Digital Main Street webpage to find out how small businesses can learn about advancing digital marketing tools and apply for grants to use towards online advertising, photography, website design, online stores, and physical hardware like tablets and a new POS system.

The Digital Main Street Coordinator can be reached at DMS@haltonhills.ca.
