UPdate: Wall to be built between Georgetown and Acton to Make Acton Great Again

In Light of Fill Prooas making his announcement, he decided to declare today Fill Prooas Day, or for those who re-arranged the letters APRIL FOOLS Day. Thanks for the fun everyone.

Earlier Article:

In what seems as a shocking turn of events long time Acton resident and a former real estate developer plans to “Make Acton Great Again” by building a wall between Acton and Georgetown and kicking all “Illegal Georgetonians” out.

“We will still allow Georgetonians in, I’m not a town-ist, I just want them to be here legally and respect our long list of Acton values and traditions”.

Fill Prooas who is better known for his real estate company “Fill’s Homes” decided that after hearing the new plans for Downtown Acton that enough was enough. “Drastic times call for drastic measures” Fill stated. “There’s no branding that will help downtown. We all know the reason that downtown is the way it is, it isn’t the rent, it isn’t the store owners or Amazon or beautification, it’s damn Georgetown. Acton’s biggest problem has always been Georgetown”.

We had originally thought Fill may have been joking until he showed us the town paperwork reinstating the Corporation of Acton, that was dismantled in 1974 to be amalgamated into what we now know of as Halton Hills.

“ That was the dumbest decision any politician has ever made.” Fill went on “Acton has always been Acton, and we have had a long time rivalry with Georgetown. Georgetown gets everything, and we get a skatepark. I don’t even skate, I can’t kick flip, but what I can do is flip houses, develop land, and make money” Fill stated.

It seems that in 1974 there was a stipulation within the amalgamation document stating that the amalgamation of Halton Hills had to be renewed every 40 years. Effectively in 2014 this document became void and allowed anyone to renew the document however they see fit. Fill said “he had just figured out about this last year. This just shows the incompetence the town of Halton Hills and those Georgetown folk have. I would have done it 4 years ago had I known then”.

When I asked Fill about "what the Town of Halton Hills will think?" Fill stated “I don’t care. overnight Acton will become Acton again. We will have Acton Firefighters, an Acton Police force and all public transportation running from Acton to Georgetown will be terminated”. Fill explained further “Along highway 7 is where we will build our border crossing, this will act like any other border, and yes this may slow people’s transit to work, although it does not matter, we will be creating jobs right here in Acton so Actonites don’t have to travel for work. We will make Acton great again.”

I asked Fill how he plans to create jobs in Acton to which he replied “Simple, we will bring back the leather industry. Acton had a thriving leather industry for years, we used to give our leathers to the Queen. How did we go from friends of royalty to Halton Hills?”

I had to ask, “Do you not think people of today will care about the smell?”. Fill jumped to respond “it will smell so much like money when I’m done, you won’t even notice the odor of hides”

The new wall development will be approximately 10.5 Kilometres running from just north of Speyside and then another wall connected running 5.2 kilometers from the fourth line to the Nassagaweya- Esquesing Townline, for a total length of approximately 15.7 km. The cost is set to be whopping $285,000,000.

I inquired how Fill would plan for Acton to pay for the new wall, he said: “we won’t, Georgetown will pay for it, they will pay every penny after I'm done with them”.

I reached out to Councillor Jon Hurst immediately to get his thoughts on the new wall and plans for Acton, to which he replied “ Fill Prooas is a fool if he thinks this will work. I personally know a lot of Georgetown residents who own a ladder, plus they could just drive around”.

The Corporation of the Town of Acton is set to go into effect May 1st, 2018, with the new wall slated to be complete by Aug 17th, 2020.

Happy Fill Prooas Day, or April Fools' Day, happy Easter too.
