HALTON HILLS, ON/ February 17, 2022 – Halton Hills Public Library (HHPL) would like to thank the community for the outstanding support and participation in the Library’s Community Survey as we develop our 2023-2027, five-year, business plan.
In mid-December, the Library asked the Halton Hills community for their thoughts and ideas regarding a range of library services, and how those services are delivered. The Library received an overwhelming response with 800 completed surveys, marking a very high level of engagement and feedback from residents.
“We are delighted by the community engagement, we received,” says Melanie Southern, Chief Librarian and CEO. Your input will help us shape our strategy to continue offering exciting and relevant collections, programs, and services for everyone. We thank you for your unwavering support.”

At the end of the survey, participants had the option to enter a draw to win one of two iPads. HHPL is happy to announce that George Comfort and Lynda Brasz are the chosen winners. Congratulations! Each winner picked up their iPad, and HHPL staff was available to assist with set-up and getting-started instructions through the Book a Librarian service, which assists patrons with learning new technology.

As a thank you to the community for the strategy plan and branding surveys, HHPL will be offering free coffee at it’s branches from February 25-27. Stop by the Library to browse, borrow, see what’s new and enjoy a coffee on the Library.
The survey also asked participants if they wanted to continue the conversation as a follow up to the questions. The Library will contact those who answered yes, to set up a meeting over Zoom or a phone call. Once again, thank you for supporting your local library and continuing to provide feedback.
Next Steps – Branding Survey Building on the five-year business plan, the Library is once again asking for residents to share their thoughts and ideas regarding the Library’s logo and brand. This shorter brand survey will help develop the Library’s brand in the community and with the Library.
“The rollout of our new 5-year business plan will happen in early fall,” says Southern. “The strategy plan and branding survey responses, in combination with our community focus groups, will allow us to continue connecting in meaningful ways."
