***UPDATE*** January 31, 2024
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in connection to a series of break and enter crimes in Oakville.
Between January 5 and January 13, 2024, there were 14 early evening break and enters to residential homes in southeast Oakville.
The suspects primarily targeted luxury homes between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Suspects gained entry by smashing the rear patio glass doors and stole jewelry, cash and other valuables.
On January 16, 2024, Toronto Police officers interrupted a similar style residential break and enter in progress and were able to arrest one of the suspects.
HRPS Investigators were able to link the suspect to break-ins in Oakville.
On January 19, HRPS officers arrested Paata Porchkhidze (51) of North York.
He has been charged by the HRPS with the following:
Break and Entering to Commit (5 counts)
Disguise with Intent (2 counts)
Investigators believe the accused to be part of an organized group committing break and enters across the GTA and is seeking additional suspects.
