The fund will offer financial help to employees, full time, and part time, to further their professional development. 11 March 2021- Bennett Village is excited to announce the launch of the Rosslyn Dowell Education Fund (RDEF). This endowment fund has been established to support and encourage Bennett Village staff as they pursue additional education and credentials. The RDEF is a concrete way of honouring the contributions and commitment of Bennett Village staff and will lead to a more highly skilled workforce. Allowing employees to progress in their careers, by obtaining the education required to apply for higher level positions or improving their knowledge and skills. The fund has been named in honour of past Board Chair, Rosslyn Dowell, a strong proponent of continuing education, who made a generous donation which has been combined with other community donations to establish the fund. An RDEF committee, made up of the Chair of the Board, Chair of Marketing & Fundraising Committee, Executive Director and Manager of the Applicant, will review applications from employees who wish to make use of the fund. “The Board, management and volunteers have worked extremely hard to formalize this educational fund. I am honoured that the fund bears my name. As a longtime advocate for continuing education, I am excited that there is now a fund available to offer financial assistance to staff members who would like to further their professional development through education.” Rosslyn Dowell-Past Board Chair Bennett Centre Long-Term Care is part of Bennett Village, a not-for-profit organization, located in Halton Hills.
