Collision involving motorcycle sends 42-year-old Kitchener man to hospital

At approximately 12:45 am on Friday August 2nd Halton Regional Police Service were called to a personal injury collision at the intersection of Guelph Line and Harvester Road in the City of Burlington. The collision involved a northbound motorcycle driven by 42-year-old Kitchener man, and a westbound automobile driven by a 35-year-old Burlington man.


According to independent witness statements, the motorcycle entered the intersection on a red light. The motorcycle skidded for a short distance before the operator put the motorcycle down on its side and slid into the side of the westbound automobile.


The motorcycle driver was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, but was then transported to a trauma centre. The motorcycle driver is in a stable condition at the time of this release.


The driver of the automobile was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was released from hospital.


The Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and took carriage of the investigation due to the injuries sustained by the motorcycle driver. The scene was closed for approximately two and a half hours for the scene investigation.
