First Student Hosts BBQ and Dunk Tank for Drivers

First Student Inc., held its season-ending event to thank their drivers on Tuesday, in Georgetown. “Today is the official last day. We've had a very successful year, we've got a great crew and we want to thank them,” said depot manager Angela Tyler.

The company's yard on Mountainview Road was transformed into an activity centre with a number of fund-raising games taking place including a toilet roll toss, mini-putt and a dunk tank. For a small donation, drivers and staff could take turns trying to dunk their managers, dispatchers and maintenance techs. All proceeds from the event went to CASHH (Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills).

Over 100 school bus drivers work out of the location, servicing schools in Georgetown, Acton and Milton. Cohorts of about 20 drivers at a time visited the celebration during the afternoon. The event was catered by Chow Hounds food truck from Acton and dessert was supplied by a truck from Ice Cream 4U of Halton Hills.
