Georgetown Man Charged With Sexual Offences after Incident in Park with Three Youth

The Halton Regional Police Service – Child and Sexual Assault Unit has charged a Georgetown man with sexual offences against three young girls. On May 17, 2021, at approximately 2:20 pm, three 13-year-old girls (victims) were sitting at the playground at Centennial Public School located at 233 Delrex Boulevard in Georgetown. The accused approached the victims and engaged in conversation. During the conversation the accused learned that the girls were all in grade 8. The male left the area but returned a short time after and approached the victims once again. The accused asked the three victims if they would perform a sexual act on him. When the victims refused he then offered to expose himself to them. The three girls left the area without further incident and reported what had occurred. Police attended the scene and located the accused a short distance away. Judah Sonnylal (29) of Georgetown has been charged with: Invitation to Sexual Touching (3 counts) Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (knife located on accused during search incident to arrest) Sonnylal has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. Media: This case is subject to a publication ban under section 486.4 of the Criminal Code of Canada and police will not be providing additional details at this time. Police believe there may be additional victims.
