The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) would like to invite residents and media to a Motor Vehicle Information Session taking place in Burlington this weekend. This is a free event organized by the HRPS for residents and vehicle owners who may have questions surrounding the legality of modifications done to their vehicles. The HRPS encourages people to attend with their vehicles and ask questions of officers in attendance. Officers will educate drivers on the Highway Traffic Act or any other provincial statutes that may be applicable. This event is strictly for educational purposes and there will be no vehicle related enforcement conducted on persons or vehicles attending. Two information sessions will take place on Saturday October 17, 2020, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm at two separate locations. Attendance will be limited to ensure compliance with the provincially mandated limit of 25 persons for an outdoor gathering. The two locations are: 900 Maple Avenue (South Parking Lot of Mapleview Mall) 777 Guelph Line (South Parking Lot of Burlington Mall, near the Bay) Please be advised that COVID-19 health and safety measures will be in place: Anyone who is experiencing symptoms, has been in contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 and/or has tested positive for COVID-19, or anyone who has returned from outside Canada in the last 14 days is asked to not attend. Physical distancing between attendees must be maintained (although the event is taking place outside, face coverings are encouraged).
