Handgun Seized and Two People Arrested after Traffic Stop in Milton

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made two arrests and seized one firearm after a traffic stop in Milton. On Tuesday October 6, 2020, at approximately 10:30 pm police stopped a vehicle on the James Snow Parkway in Milton for a Highway Traffic Act violation. As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation by officers on scene, two arrests were made and one firearm was seized. Illia Ayo (18) of London has been charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Possession of Restricted Firearm

  • Breach of Firearms Regulations

  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)

  • Breach of Release Order (x2)

Mahmoud Abuain (18) of Milton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Schedule 4)

  • Both accused were held pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Items seized by police include a .45 calibre handgun (see attached photo), 14 grams of suspected fentanyl, and a large number of pills believed to be Xanax.
