The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has laid charges in connection with a homicide investigation in Milton.
On Wednesday November 23, 2022, 40-year-old Asad Rasheed of Milton was charged with second degree murder.
He has been remanded into custody pending a court appearance on November 28, 2022.
The Halton Regional Police Service would like to extend sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time. At the request of the family, police will not be identifying the victim.

Homicide Investigation in Milton - November 22, 2022
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest in relation to a homicideinvestigation in Milton.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m. police were called to a residence in the area of Farmstead Drive and Gosford
Crescent in Milton. Officers located a female victim at the residence and she was rushed to hospital by EMS. Tragically, the victim has been pronounced deceased.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., HRPS officers located and arrested a suspect in Milton. A 40 year-old male is currently in custody and charges are pending. The HRPS Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation and an update with additional details is forthcoming.
Police are not looking for additional suspects and there is no related threat to public safety.
