Man struck by passing train in Georgetown

Man struck by passing train in Georgetown At approximately 8:03pm on the 15th of December 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service was notified that a person had been struck by a train at the Georgetown GO train station. Initial investigation revealed that the 23 year old male from Acton had been on the platform south of the south train tracks by the Via Rail building when he was struck by a westbound freight train. He sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Georgetown District Hospital by Halton Region Paramedic Services and subsequently transferred to Hamilton General Hospital where he is in serious condition. Due to his injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
