The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating the theft of a Pride flag from a residence in southeast Burlington. The theft took place on Friday June 4, 2021, at approximately 5:30 pm.
This theft comes after a series of similar thefts of Pride flags from lawns in Burlington earlier this month. Previously 11 flags were stolen from 9 houses. Six of those flags have been returned with an apology note. The suspects have not been identified and investigators cannot confirm whether or not these thefts are related.
Hate and division have no place in Halton and we are committed to fully investigating these incidents and identifying the individual(s) responsible.
Anyone who has CCTV and/ or dash cam footage from this area at this date and time or anyone with information regarding these investigations who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
