The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made three arrests and laid multiple charges after a break-in to Budds’ Subaru in Oakville.
On July 9 at approximately 11:30 pm police were contacted after an alarm was triggered at the dealership located on South Service Road West. The suspects fled in a grey sedan prior to police arrival however officers located and stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Wyecroft Road and Bronte Road. Two of the suspects were arrested at the site of the stop however a third suspect fled on foot and was arrested a short time later at a nearby hotel. Police are not seeking any additional suspects.
Christopher Cabus (49) of Toronto has been charged with the following:
Break and Enter
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Fail to Comply with Release Order
Richard Fernandez (44) of York has been charged with the following:
Break and Enter
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Fail to Comply with Undertaking
Johnnathan Rayos (32) of North York has been charged with the following:
Break and Enter
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Fail to Comply Probation Order
Breach of Conditional Sentence Order
All three of the accused arrested by the HRPS were on various forms of release stemming from previous charges and held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Officers recovered the stolen items which included a payment card reader taken from the dealership.
