The Halton Regional Police have arrested and laid charges against two males in relation to a stolen waist pack and wallet in the City of Burlington.
On February 29th 2020, the 52 year old male victim was at the Burlington GO Station located at 2101 Fairview Street. His waist pack and wallet were stolen at that time. The same day his financial card was used at three locations in Burlington. The loss to the victim is approximately $700.00.
Investigation by the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau led to the charges against the following individuals;
Troy Henderson (45 years from Oakville)
Theft Under $5,000
Fraud Under $5,000
Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card
Tyson Ellis (35 years old from Oakville)
Theft Under $5,000
Fraud Under $5,000
Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card
Both males were released on an Undertaking. The public is reminded to reduce their risk when shopping and only bring your driver's licence, health card and a few financial cards. All Identity documents should be left securely at home. Don't let your belongings out of sight and become distracted while shopping. Any fraudulent activity on your financial cards should be reported immediately to your bank and to police.
