***Update*** Arrest Made in Oakville Drive-by Shooting

​The Halton Regional Police Service has made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took on May 29, 2020 on Napier Crescent in Oakville (see original release below). On June 24, 2020, residential search warrants were executed on Baronwood Drive in Oakville and Cedar Springs Road in Burlington. A third warrant was also executed on the vehicle involved in the shooting. As a result of the warrants, the following items were seized (see attached photo):

  • One .22 semi-automatic rifle

  • .22 calibre shell casings and ammunition

  • Quantities of cocaine, Xanax and MDMA

  • Digital scales, drug packaging and $625 in Canadian currency

Police have identified Noah Landry (24) of Oakville as the person responsible for the shooting. He was arrested on June 24 and held pending a bail hearing. Landry has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, Xanax and MDMA

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance

  • Careless storage of a firearm

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3)

  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized (x3)

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x3)

  • Discharge firearm (x2)

  • Mischief endangering life (x2)

  • Fail to comply with probation (x3)

Mackenzie Childs (22) of Oakville was also arrested on June 24 as part of the investigation; however at this time, investigators do not believe she was involved in the shooting. Childs has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, Xanax and MDMA

  • Careless storage of a firearm

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Childs was also held in custody pending a bail hearing. Police believe the shooting was targeted; however, do not believe the occupants that live at the residence were the intended targets. Contact Crime Stoppers" at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca. ***ORIGINAL RELEASE*** Halton police investigating an overnight shooting in Oakville On Friday May 29th 2020, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to a call for shots fired on Napier Crescent in Oakville, which is located in the area of Trafalgar Road and McCraney Street. Upon arriving, police learned that a vehicle had driven by a residence on the crescent and several shot were fired at a home. Approximately an hour later, the vehicle returned and several more shots were fired at the home. There were no injuries and police believe the shooting was targeted. At this stage of the investigation, there is limited information regarding the involved vehicle. Investigators are appealing to members of the public for dash cam or home or business surveillance video from the area of McCraney Street, between Trafalgar Road and Sixth Line between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact Detective Ron Wright of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2284 Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers "See Something?
