Youth Arrested for Attack on Elderly Female in Oakville

On Wednesday June 3, 2020 just after 8:00 am the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a reported attack at a residence on Melvin Drive in Oakville. The victim, a 79 year old female, was transported to hospital with wounds consistent with a stabbing. She is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect and victim are known to one another. Police have arrested a 15 year old male from York Region in relation to the attack and charges are pending. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival and was arrested on a bus in Peel Region by Halton Tactical Rescue Unit officers. Police are not looking for additional suspects.
